*** Late edit: I started writing this post before the news about the untimely death of Amy Winehouse. I then had to change the title. ***
Hi everyone and welcome back 🙂 I’m back home now and finally able to get back into my blog. I hope to post often and regularly and be of interest.
Saying that I’m back home implies that I have been elsewhere and that is correct. I spent the better part of July in Seattle, WA. I was working hard and very busy with the work related tasks, but I did have some “spare time”. And what have I done in that time? Read on…
Well, what can a big music and martial arts fan do in a place like Seattle? What’s there to see? I’ll tell you what.
First of all, I just HAD to go visit Kurt Cobain. Twenty years after the release of “Nevermind” there was nothing more fitting for a Nirvana fan to do. So I sat on his bench and stared at his house. I’ll go ahead and admit that I was THAT close to tears (signaling with thumb and index finger).
Then, I headed to another 27 year old dead poet. A peerless guitar artist (in my humble opinion).
Once I paid tribute to these musical giants I visited another pioneer. This one, a martial artist of unparalleled innovative skills.
I also visited the EMP museum, which is running three excellent exhibition these days. An Avatar exhibition, A Jimmy Hendrix exhibition and “Nirvana – Taking Punk to the Masses”. The Hendrix one was a little on the small side but still good. The other two were great. If you’re around, GO THERE. It’s right next to the space needle if you want to combine activities 🙂
So, there you go. I was gone but now I’m back, so check this blog out, I promise it would be a lot more active than it was for the past three weeks.
*** Late Edit: So… I was done writing this post about dead 27 year olds, and then I open another browser to check what’s going on and… what do you know? This club just got bigger… I don’t know how to feel about gifted people who succumb to drug addiction. Sad? Angry? I think that mainly frustrated. RIP Amy Winehouse and thank god for Dave Grohl…***
