So… UFC208 did not turn out to be as great as some other underrated cards in recent times. Not that it wasn’t entertaining – at least to me – it was. It was one of those card where the most significant happening was something that didn’t happen…
These days, unless Conor is on the card, the whole websphere goes nuts. “Boring card”, “I’m not paying for this”, “Who wants to watch this c_ _ _?”
…And then… then it turns out to be an AWESOME card. Get it together sisters… this is an AWESOME card.
Now let’s get to picking!
It’s somewhat symbolic that this UFC 200 AfterMMAth post comes out on the 5th anniversary of the first centennial event – UFC 100. We’ve talked about the comparison between the two before the final card of 200 took final shape. It was, and still is an unfair comparison but it is interesting that on 200 we had a few UFC100 returns, Brock Lesnar being the obvious. But let’s not forget Jim Miller who fought in 100 and the fight that never happened, featured Jon Jones, another UFC100 card member.
This post will cover three events (and a whole lot of predictions) so excuse me if I breeze through a few to concentrate on the more important ones in the bigger scheme of things.

While my creative juices are running, I take some methodical brakes to check what’s going on in the outside world and what I see there these past couple of weeks is the motivation for this post, namely, the increase in conversation regarding fighters pay.
I just figured that, trying to sum this whole weekend up in one post would not only be too much for one post, it would also be too much to process.
So what you get instead, are small installments for each leg of this fight marathon. Continue reading
