UFC 239 AfterMMAth (Underdogs And Other Dogs)

How many times, did we wait, impatiently for a hyped up event, like UFC 239 only to have it end with a relative disappointment? All those missed weights, last minute injuries, not to mention judges “contribution” and post fights shenanigans… And 239 had Jon Jones at the top… scary prospect… But all the stars aligned, everyone showed up and I think the word to use, to describe this event as a whole is – Fantastic!
Alright, let’s jump right to my picks. Then, we’ll chat about this, that and the other.

UFC 221 AfterMMAth (Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Vey)

Many people said this was not a card worthy of a PPV and you know, they might still have a case. It was, however a very enjoyable night of fights, with tons of action and fun fights, starting in the early prelims (very early if you were in Perth Australia…) all the way to the main event. We saw Israel Adesanya’s violent debut and a spinning back fist knockdown, A magnificent GnP and a surprising but welcome Kimura. But I’m getting ahead of myself here.
Let’s discuss my picks quickly. Then, we’ll chat about this, that and the other.

Interesting fights from early prelims to main event, which will give us the identity of the middleweight number one contender. I don’t have a lot of time so…
Let the predicting of UFC 221 coming up on Saturday, February 10th on PPV commence. (All credits go to UFC/WME-IMG for all photos.)

UFC 199 AfterMMAth (He Shook Up The World)

Hello there MMA fans, and welcome everyone else to this After MMAth post, following one of the best cards in recent memory (which is filled with some really good cards).
Top to bottom – excellent card, with really no let downs in terms of performance. Thirteen fights, 8 out of which ended with a T/KO finish, 4 decisions (after some very interesting fights) and a draw. I’ll take that spread any time.

UFC 199 – Predictions

Hi everybody!
Well…
Just before UFC 198, I was very busy. Too busy to do a prediction post… But AS PROMISED, I made some time to predict an event that – even after losing its original title challenger – looks absolutely great on paper, and is likely to prove just as good as it looks!

Ladies and gentlemen, we are liiiiiiiiive!

How many times did we hear that in the month of December, the year of 2015? On the second weekend of December alone, Bruce Buffer went all out on the microphone 3 times.

Indeed, it is a December to remember. Continue reading
