UFC 238 AfterMMAth (Two Eyes, One Nose, One Big Mouth)

For the longest time, UFC 238 flew right under my radar. That was until they announced Cowboy Vs. Ferguson. This fight was scheduled to “save a dull card” apparently. So, I went and looked at the scheduled fights and realized that, although “The People’s Main Event” will certainly bring the buzz to Chicago, the card is full of gems as it is. I thoroughly enjoyed it for the most part.
Alright, let’s jump right to my picks. Then, we’ll chat about this, that and the other.

UFC 237 AfterMMAth (Pulling Triggers)

UFC237 was another card that over delivered, for the lack of general enthusiasm among MMA fans. It featured 7 finishes in 12 fights, and for the most part was a fun watch.
Alright, let’s jump right to my picks. Then, we’ll chat about this, that and the other.

UFC 236 AfterMMAth (Who-Knows-Fights)

When Joe Rogan screamed the pre-PPV hype, next to Anik and Cormier, he dubbed the Co-Main and Main event of UFC236 “Who knows fights”. That was true. Who knew? Well, some of us thought we did, but even those of us who called the right score, would admit it wasn’t a lock. For my part, I can say that all the main card fights were kind of “Who knows?” Let me put in a bit of, badly written, foreshadowing – Not me…
Alright, let’s jump right to my picks. Then, we’ll chat about this, that and the other.

UFC 235 AfterMMAth (There Are Levels To This Game)

So the super card is behind us. Miraculously, everyone (significant) made weight, all showed up, and even Jones came up positive on only 2 out of 5 what-have-yas and it was of course a pulse, so don’t worry. It was going to be the best card of the year, and while it was good, I allow myself to speculate that we have not seen the best 2019 card yet. But, I’m a little ahead of myself here.

UFC 234 AfterMMAth (Gut Shot)

Just around my 35th birthday, I felt some pain in my lower abdomen. I let it go for a bit, thinking (wishing really) that it was just some cramps. When it became apparent it was not, I went to the doctor, from there a quick ultrasound test, and the following day I was under the knife. Yup, a hernia is not fun. I could feel a little balloon swell momentarily every time I coughed. Not to mention the stinging pain. Now, I am no MMA fighter, but one thing I know for sure. Robert Whittaker, whose condition by all accounts was far worse, could not fight like that.
I swear I could hear the sighs of disappointment coming from all the way in Australia. And I was bummed out like all of you. But it is what it is… It’s MMA.
Alright, let’s jump right to my picks. Then, we’ll chat about this, that and the other.

UFC 232 AfterMMAth (2 Goats In LA)

UFC232 turned out to be greater than the sum of its shenanigans. It featured thirteen fights, only three of which went the distance. Upsets, KOs and submissions galore. What more can one ask for?
Alright, let’s jump right to my picks. Then, we’ll chat about this, that and the other.

UFC 231 AfterMMAth (Blessed Are MMA Fans)

UFC231 cemented itself (top to bottom) as a leading candidate for card of the year. The prelims were fast and furious, the main card started (and ended) with a bang, and we got some stuff to reflect on in this AfterMMAth.
Alright, let’s jump right to my picks. Then, we’ll chat about this, that and the other.
